Donald Trump and his palmgreasing, treacherous road. By Gualdo Hidalgo, Latin Heritage Foundation's publisher

Donald Trump and his palmgreasing, treacherous road. By Gualdo Hidalgo, Latin Heritage Foundation's publisher

At the beginning, the news was not even news. It was the mellifluous voice of President Donald Trump in a call to Ukraine, a mere exchange of pleasantries, peppered with the inconsequential request, made as part of the polite conversation, for a Ukrainian investigation into Joe Biden, who is expected to run against Donald Trump next year.

It was a trivial, nondescript conversation, a friendly chat, without the usual protocol rigors. Nothing more, nothing less. For goodness' sake don't let us beat about the bush.

It was an occurrence seen through Donald Trump's prism, a worldview fitted to his needs and wishes.

Further away from the oportunistic ramblings of Donald Trump's standpoint,  Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it “bribery,”

Donald Trump is fascinated by semantic juggling. The verbal tricks suit him perfectly. it comes as a ring to his finger, and it allow him the perfect getaway, or at least, to bury his head in the sand, like a frightened ostrich, while presumptuous and unrepentant, strut his feathers sticking out on the sand.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi casts him back to reality forcefully, by accusing him of committing bribery.  President Donald Trump withheld military assistance to Ukraine while demanding a commitment to publicly investigate his political rival in the US elections.

Trump has committed treason and bribery, the only two specific examples that the Constitution lays out for impeachment. Treason and bribery concur in Donald Trump. He has forged a treacherous pattern of abandoning traditional US friends.

Donald Trump's bonds with friends like Ukrainians and Kurds are weak. He doesn't feel morally obligated to the people. His confessed love for Kim Jong-un reveals a distinguishing trait of his personality. He is passionate about domineering, authoritarian, autocratic political leaders,

Washington's foreign policy has collapsed by the deep obeisance and bow down to strongmen: Kim Jong-un, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vladimir Putin. Trump capitulates to dictators, and in doing so, marginalizes himself, voluntarily or forcibly, from Washington's explicit political goals.

The abandonment of friends by Donald Trump is intrinsic to the strong current that runs underground in the ultimate history of the United States, the hidden, unconfessed and disturbing support for the communist faction of North Viet Nam, with a balance of hundreds of thousands of lives of American soldiers, forgotten and betrayed at the precise moments of the war in Viet Nam, similar to the treacheery to Chiang Kai-shek, in secret support for the Chinese communists.

Washington has forgotten its obligations, or look down upon his shoulders to what were once seen as historical commitmments.

Trump is not at all worried about Crimea and Ukraine. He lacks the sense of historical duty, or stray away from it. The result is the same. Trump is not going to deliver Washington's promise to countries under the yoke of communism. Crimea  has been ignored, and Ukraine is another victim of Donald Trump's personal political game.

The world has lived distressing and dramatic moments since the Russian Revolution in October 1917.  The values of the West were brought together and materialized in the ideology and worldwide anti-communist movement, dreamed up as the uncompromising defense of the Western democratic tenets.ui

in the United States, anti-communism reached unexpected nuances, with a depth, severity and fierceness that impacted insidiously national life, in particular since the First Red Scare of 1919-1920, around the exacerbated feeling of a communist threat by radicalized American social forces .

The profound impact of the Russian Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 in the United States, the polarization of society in the face of the perceived imminence of communist expansion, and the growing fear, anxiety and tensions rooted in the Ameican society, instilled confidence and security in millions of people living under the despotic authority of communist countries.

Since 1917, millions of people in communist countries have seen the United States as the natural ally in the fight against communism, and as a guarantee in the long quest for freedom. The United States became a beacon of Liberty. This feeling has been an inspiration for resistance and for the anti-communist struggle, and has served as consolation to resist and overcome decades of ferocious confinement.

When on December 25, 1991, the hammer and sickle flag of the Soviet empire fell for the last time on the Kremlin, and Mikhail Gorbachev resigned from his position as president of the Soviet Union, the expectations of freedom of people under Soviet rule were resurrected with the impetus of a century of waiting

The United States responded with disturbing caution, in an incomprehensible rupture and in flagrant contradiction with the diafanity, uprightness and commitment of Ronald Reagan.

The clamorous yammering of Donald Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign in Florida, in the deceptive repetition of anti-communist slogans and promises, as reverberating echoing of the good omens of populist politicians, false prophets or casino croupiers, a way to coax the soul with enticing prohesies that will not crystallize in any time but it will ensure the flow of dollars in the casino coffers.

In Florida, the political discourse of Donald Trump targeted the Cuban community, under the shades of a handful of fake Cuban hardliners who have shrewdly held Florida captive of conflicting and spurious interests for more than half a century.

Donald Trump was soon trapped by the political demons he intended to exorcise. Communism, like the Lernean Hydra, is a monster with a thousand heads, one of which was immortal.

In Florida, the pressures, risks and political backstage play deterred Donald Trump from resolute commitments on serious and risky foreign policy issues.

Donald Trump entered US policy ready to take advantage of any chaotic situation. He is neither a politician nor a hero. He is a businessman with the pretentious vanity of a politician. At the same time, he is a performer with seductive power. From an unfounded hope, Donald Trump has reduced himself pitifully just to that, to a perennial masquerade pretending that he is a great politician and a religious leader in personal contact with God.

Donald Trump has let everyone down. He lacks a message, has absolutely nothing to say, and comes down to deceive everyone: Ukrainians, Kurds, Syrians, North Koreans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, Cubans, just to mention a few examples.

For Anerica and the world, Donald Trump promises a lot but deliver little. Donald Trump is the Mountain in Labor. The mountain was giving birth and was groaning horribly. The rumors raised great expectations all over the country. In the end, the mountain gave birth to a mouse. Just so is Donald Trump. We already know Donald Trump by his fruits.
